Couple of questions about GDM

Hi. Two quick nagging questions about gdm.

1. How do i turn off the annoying beep each time gdm starts up? I tried adding SoundOnLogin=false to /etc/gdm/custom.conf, but that doesn't help. I also turned off the system beep under 'system -> sound' and that didn't help either.

2. When I select a theme from the gdm login window, it doens't get saved between sessions. How do I make that sticky? My normal Gnome theme gets saved just fine.

Thanks,
Scott

Re: Couple of questions about GDM

1. add "MOD_BLACKLIST=(pcspkr)" to /etc/rc.conf and that will disable the system beep completely.

Re: Couple of questions about GDM

Thanks for the tip!

Any ideas about the gdm theme? It stays if I just logout and login, but resets each reboot.

Thanks, Scott

Re: Couple of questions about GDM

you should cange the theme via /usr/sbin/gdmsetup (should be run as root). Alternatively you can find find it in the system menu (it is called 'login' or something).
