Problem in installing

Hello!
Hi have a laptop... Toshiba satellite 1800-224. and i'm trying install a 2007.08-2 Don't Panic but i have this error "Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill the idle task!"
can help-me??

any other linux live distro is possible to run (in graphical mode)?

how much RAM you have installed?
if less then 100 try the lowmem boot image on core installation cd

128Mb ram.
I dont try distro, but i instelled the archlinux Vodooo but the links of pacman dont works.

try latest core iso, and boot the lowmem image, then you shouldn't get a kernel panic

ok... it´s better... but not ok, because in installation menu when i will select de packeges he don't find my cd-rom...

I use the same type as you，but i can't  contact ADSL...what's the reason?
