Alrighty ... my USB stopped working

I have no idea why and not really sure where to start.  It always worked, but recently, it just ... stopped.  It works in Windows, so it's not the hardware.

So I plug in a USB thumb drive and it displays in /dev as sdb, but doesn't display the partitions.  When I do a cfdisk /dev/sdb, it says that the partition table is fubarred.  When I plug in an optical mouse, it lights, but it doesn't do anything to the cursor when I move it.

Any ideas?

Also, have you updated your system recently? Many odd quirks have been fixed for many issues recently.

Cheers,

Re: Alrighty ... my USB stopped working

Well, here I am again blaming myself for blaming linux.  I moved my xorg.conf to xorg.conf.test and tried running the server without a config - my USB mouse works.  And it turns out that the thumbdrive's partitions were messed up to begin with.  The odds pointed at linux, but it was just testing my loyalty big_smile

I'll fix my configs and format this drive.  Thanks for the support guys!
