AUR Package trusting

Hi everyone,

how does the "package trusting" process in AUR works? How can I (in regular ways) a TU to have a look over my PKGBUILD to make them trusted?
Didn't find anything in wiki or anything else 8( A clear answer would be nice, thanks.

Re: AUR Package trusting

Extracted from http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR_Q_%26_A :

When PKGBUILDs get enough votes they go into the Community repository, where the TUs maintain them and pacman can be used as they are now binary packages. How many votes does it take to get a PKGBUILD into Community? It usually take around 25 votes for something to get into Community. An exception to this is if an app is developed on Archlinux and if a TU wants to put it in Community it'll go into the repo.

Re: AUR Package trusting

Think this is crossed wires. I maybe wrong but think OP is asking when do they get marked as safe. On chatting to someone they implied it doesn't really matter they had packages that never got marked but where moved to community.

I posted my PKGBUILDS wondering whether I had something wrong in them.
Here's my discussion at the bottom,  http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=39903

I guess its just a question of a TU getting around to it to mark it as safe, more packages than TU's not a bad thing either. wink

Okay.. and my last question about PKGBUILDs is: What licence should be used if a closed source tool does not provide any licence information? Website and forums also. Program is called epsxe.

epsxe?  Checkout the docs dir in the archive that you download - there's "legal" info in there that, IMO, constitutes a license.

Re: AUR Package trusting

The "flag safe" function has been discussed on the AUR list lately, and I think it will disappear.
