Compiz Fusion with Catalyst drivers

I really want to get Compiz Fusion working. I have an ATI X300 card, and am using the latest Catalyst drivers. When running fusion-icon I get:

 * Detected Session: kde
 * Searching for installed applications...
 * No GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap with direct rendering context
 ... nor with indirect rendering, this isn't going to work!
 * Using the GTK Interface
 * KWin is already running
 * Setting window manager to Compiz

What does the error at the top mean? I'm hoping to get this working because I'm starting to miss Compiz Fusion...

This is because compiz-fusion was built for mesa's opengl not the catalyst gl drivers.  This problem was solved an is on the arch wiki, you need to install the mesa libgl-dri copy the libGL.so.1.2, reinstall the catalyst drivers and start compiz using the method described in the wiki.

I have an ati radeon 9600xt, works with the latest catalyst drivers, though there is corruption in the lower right corner x.x

I tried all the steps described in the wiki, but even with LD_PRELOAD=/lib/mesa/libGL.so.1.2 it still claims that no Texture_From_Pixmap-support is available hmm

If have the same problem. fglrx 8.42 + xorg-server 1.2 worked wonderful for me. All the suggestions on the wiki don't work. From what I read on the phoronix forums, the combination of catalyst drivers + xorg-server 1.4 is not able to get AIGLX working.

I have exactly the same problem too, and I've tried to do the remove ati drivers and install the libgl-dri step on the wiki, and then run LD_PRELOAD=/lib/mesa/libGL.so.1.2, and still nothing works to me like you.

I'm using the catalyst drivers too, I supose the problem is on these drivers...
