Weird speaker problem...

I have had a very weird problem with my speakers for a while. When using headphones it is fine. The problem is quite annoying, and happens on windows and Linux. It decides to randomly go quiet for a while, and then after about 30 seconds it comes back to normal. It's really annoying. It also happens to my TV in the same room..but not as much. Could it be a hardware failiure?

Re: Weird speaker problem...

If you have connected your speakers and the TV to a hi-fi amplifier, the problem is probably a defect "Endstufe" (german - couldn't find the correct English word for this component). Check the MOSFET transistors. If you have problems adjusting the volume using a potentiometer (weird noise), a little bit of contact spray might help.
