It works well, but I get no scrolling on the sides. Any ideas? I'm using KDE if that's of any relevance.

Hrmm, it looks good to me... are you sure that "synaptics" is listed in your Modules section, like this:

Also, I find it handy to enable horizontal scrolling with a two-finger drag (this goes into your InputDevice section with your other settings):

Maybe your machine uses different edges. Try changing those values, make 'm smaller.

Oh, I did not see that just the scrolling functions not working.
Have you any Errors / Warnings in the xorg logfile?

and here's my entire Xorg.conf file. You will see that I have been playing with it some... with little/no success. Due to viewing the log I saw "Alps touchpad sets device to /dev/input/event6" so I tried changing my device to that with the same result, no scroll.

The config for ALPS Pads is different from the one for SYNAPTICS Pads.
