[SOLVED] fglrx: Exec failed for command "/tmp/firegl1.isse.[...]"

Xorg fails on startup since I have reinstalled Arch64, although it has been working before (even with the same configuration). As I didnt update the old install for quite a while it didn't use the new catalyst driver and hence I suppose it's just that new driver that causes the error.

that's the console output (look out for "Exec failed for ..."):

Release Date: 5 September 2007

X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0

Build Operating System: Linux 2.6.23-ARCH x86_64

Current Operating System: Linux actium 2.6.23-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Nov 17 21:23:00 CET 2007 x86_64

Build Date: 29 November 2007 03:42:48PM

The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:

> Warning: Type "ONE_LEVEL" has 1 levels, but <RALT> has 2 symbols

> Ignoring extra symbols

Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server

waiting for X server to shut down FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/share/fonts/misc" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.

xorg.conf
Xorg.0.log (didn't detect any error messages)

Any ideas what could be causing this/instructions on how to fix it?

thanks for your help in advance.

Re: [SOLVED] fglrx: Exec failed for command "/tmp/firegl1.isse.[...]"

somehow simply reinstalling arch (again) made that problem vanish.
