I am connected via 802.11n. Doing a test with nepim, I get ~8,000KB/s. With any way I can think of transferring files (ssh, scp, sshfs, smbfs, cifs) it is around 1,200KB/s. I haven't bothered to setup http or ftp to try that. What is causing this?
I know ~8,000KB/s is the norm because thats what I was getting in a windows to windows scenario with the exact same hardware. I am now transferring linux to linux.

just a thought, you sure it's not 8,000Kb/s and 1,200 KB/s... because 8,000Kb/s is 1,000KB/s
"Oh, they have the internet on computers now."

I am sure I was getting 6-8MB/s on windows. With N router and G card it was about 2MB/s With G all around it was about 700KB/s. All those speeds in windows.
