alsa and shutdown

Why do I have two messages "saving alsa conf" during system shutdown?

Re: alsa and shutdown

Because it saves the state of your soundcard like volume and such on shutdown. Otherwise you would have had to unmute the soundcard everytime you boot.

Re: alsa and shutdown

I only have one. Do you have the alsa script called from both daemons in rc.conf and in rc.local or something like that?

Re: alsa and shutdown

rc.local - I have got nothing
rc.conf - MODULES I have got snd-via82xx
             DAEMONS I have got alsamixer

Maybe running Kmix also writes alsa volumes?

Re: alsa and shutdown

Did you make any modifications to /etc/modules.conf (or /etc/modprobe.conf in 2.6)?

Re: alsa and shutdown

I have two aliases with snd-via82xx in modprobe.conf
I did modprobe snd-via82xx  and snd-pcm-oss command a few times.
