Re: sonypid, anyone?

This all depens on your model of Sony notebook, aparrently different models do this differently. (Annoying, huh?)

Anyways...the following is from http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-33 … art-0.html <-that thread.

lsmod |grep sony

My VGN-FS742 auto loaded the sony_laptop module.

ls /sys/devices/platform/sony-laptop

If you have 'fnkey' listed in that directory you should be good.

Once you have sony_laptop & the fnkey thing listed, the Ubuntu sripts above may work, or a little program I found called "fsfn" may also work (again, this all depends on your specific model). I just (literally, like 5 minutes ago, then I saw this thread) posted fsfn-svn in the AUR. Give it a shot and see if it does the trick. Reading through the Gentoo forum may be useful as well.

Good luck!

Re: sonypid, anyone?

I don't know that sonypi & sony_laptop actually get along. Try unloading or blacklisting one or the other and see if the 'fnkeys' shows up. ?
