system monitor completely borked in KDEmod... cannot kill processes

Like the title says, KDE's system monitor doesn't work. Opening it up will give me an annoying error every 2 or 3 seconds saying "Connection to localhost has been lost" and clutter my screen with popup notifications. I can monitor and kill processes from the CLI, but I prefer to do this graphically (and even I didn't, it really bugs me when things don't work on my computer, even I don't use them).

I really have no idea what could have caused the problem, but it was working a week ago and I haven't made too many changes to my system recently (or at least no changes that seem remotely related to this).

If you already haven't, you may want to address this in the KDEmod forum:

Re: system monitor completely borked in KDEmod... cannot kill processes

fixed some already few days ago:
lm_sensors 3.0.0-1
kdebase 3.5.8-2

or install previous version of lm_sensors 2.10.5-2 without updating kdebase

So is the general consensus that this is a package problem? For some reason I thought maybe it had to do with some configuration somewhere. Alright, I guess I'll look into down/upgrading.
