How to Enable Xorg Composite? [SOLVED]

I'm trying to use compiz fusion using my radeon 9600.

When trying to run compiz:

[chris@myhost ~]$ compiz --replace

I had the same problem and had it working just using fusion-icon. Install that, if you haven't, and try running Compiz with:

fusion-icon

Thanks, Tried it but didnt work, though did get it will indirect rendering.

Tried this:

[chris@myhost ~]$ LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 compiz --replace  -c emerald
compiz (core) - Warn: Unknown option '-c'

compiz (core) - Error: Couldn't load plugin 'emerald'

Does the command:

LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 compiz --replace  -c emerald

Work for you then?

As I said, fusion-icon worked straight away for me. So I didn't have to go through the hassle you're going through. I suggest you to omit the emerald bit (did you install emerald, did you? ), and see if Compiz starts anyway, even without a window decorator, you can always start it later, just running:

Ok thanks, I got compiz working without window borders now at least.

compiz (dbus) - Error: dbus_bus_get error: Failed to execute dbus-launch to autolaunch D-Bus session

Any idea how to fix the dbus problem?
