Mess with nvidia drivers

HI!
I am going to buy compal FL90+ laptop and install Arch64 on it. Do I have to install nvidia driver as on a desktop computer? I am asking because nvidia doesn't provide graphic drivers for laptops with windows and OEMs have to deal with it by themselves.

um uh nvidia is the chip on video card so as long as you know which chip ie fx,series6,7, or 8 to download proper windows driver
as for arch you can use xf86-video-nv or if you want you can go with nvidia package appropriate to your kernel. if you use kernel26mm   nvidia-mm .  if you have an older card try nvidia-71xx or nvidia-96xx
