- A version that does not significantly differ from one of the
copyright holder's releases, must be provided by default.- Versions not based on the copyright holder's latest release (on
the corresponding "branch", such as Ion3(tm)), must within 28 days
of this release, be prominently marked as (potentially) obsolete
and unsupported.- Significantly altered versions may be provided only if the user
explicitly requests for those modifications to be applied, and
is prominently notified that the software is no longer considered
the standard version, and is not supported by the copyright holder.
The version string displayed by the program must describe these
modifications and the "support void" status.Versions for which the above conditions are not satisfied, must be
renamed so that they can not be associated with the Ion project, their
executables must be given names that do not conflict with the copyright
holder's version, and neither the copyright holder nor the Ion project
may be referred to for support.
You should really read the license before offering ion3 considering that the package that you guys have actually breaks the License of it.

File a report with the same information in bug tracker if you haven't already.

I thought this was resolved some time ago.
For those who don't know what he's talking about, see this mailing list posting-> http://www.archlinux.org/pipermail/tur- … 04634.html.

Wow, that is certainly an interesting read... I did like that idea of forking it as "notion" though! It took me a while to parse that name properly!

It has yet to be 28 days since the most recent release, our package is fine.

Our package is not significantly altered, and the code of ion itself is not altered. The patch in CVS is just letting ion know of the location of our lua, and adjusting the install PREFIX.

You really should check our mailing lists before commenting on what we apparently didn't do -- we did.
Also, if you do still see any problem, the bug tracker is the appropriate place to post, not the forums.

Agreed. I hate these idle threats like this. It's silly, especially when people don't know the whole story. For future reference, being helpful is in the interest of yourself and every Arch user. Try being helpful instead of assuming guilt and wrongdoing. A bug report on the bug tracker is the quickest way to get through to me, who will then either take action or assign the bug accordingly.

Ah well, it seems it's been removed from the repos (and I second the decision).

was it directed at archlinux no I was just making people aware of how ion3 is now since I know many archlinux users like Free Software which ion3 uses a free license with non-free stips
