Just installed Arch Linux on my Thinkpad T40 and I'm enjoying it a lot. I'm only having one problem. I've installed Openoffice, but it refuses to run. Running /opt/openoffice/program/soffice for setup creates the ~/.openoffice.org2 directory, but then it'll crash. Running this in the terminal doesn't give any errors either. Writer, calc, nothing opens. If someone can tell me how to fix this that'd be great, though I suppose the most obvious question is where can I get info on the crash? Thanks!

Hi lpb331,
I have a similar problem: when run Openoffice for the first time it doesn't appear (no error messages on the console), then start the apparency applet (like if I would change gnome theme) without doing nothing (just click ok button) and launch Openoffice again it works.

Thanks for replying luca. How do I start this apparency applet?

Sorry, I don't have my linux box now, but it should be gnome-theme-manager
(start it from a console)

Well I opened System -> Appearance and closed it, but that didn't work. I reopened the Appearance tab and looked at my font details. For some reason this had it set to 50 dpi, while I have my laptop set for 96 dpi. Setting that value to 96 fixed the problem. Thanks for all your help!
