I've installed Audacious 1.4.4 and Audacious-plugins 1.4.2 from the extra repo. Whenever I load Audacious or add files, they appear as though the tags are identified properly, e.g. Jason Mraz - Remedy. However, when I play the file, it seems to forget the tag, as it displays Jason Mraz - Remedy.mp3, but it still plays properly. When opening audacious from a terminal, it gives the message "[TuplezCC]: Compilation failed!" and when I try to play a file, it repeats this message, sometimes once, sometimes several times. Any ideas on what is causing this?

Hm... I've never seen that before. I'll have to look into it a bit when I get home.

Any luck? I haven't been able to find anything, though I've noticed that if I save the track details while the track is playing, it will display the proper title and artist. If I decide to play the track again, then it forgets those details.

Sorry - haven't figured anything out yet, and now I'm on vacation. I won't be back to my home computer for another week.
I've subscribed to this forum thread so I won't forget to look into it more when I get back.

I've uninstalled and then upgraded to audacious-player 1.4.5 and audacious-plugins 1.4.4, and I'm still having the compilation problem. I have a few .wma files and they do not give this error, only the mp3's do. Also, if I decide to delete the list and readd it, it gives the same error message a few hundred times in the terminal. I'm guessing one for each mp3 in the playlist. However, while playing the song, if I go to view track details and save them, it does display it correctly in the playlist and in audtool (I use it in conky). Hopefully this gives someone an idea!

I found the problem. For some reason, the MPEG audio plugin was configured to override the generic titles. Undoing that took care the issue.
