Hi
today I booted up my pc and all of a sudden Kile wont start anymore... This is the error I get on the command line;
$ kile
kbuildsycoca running...
kile: ERROR: Error: standard icon theme "crystalsvg" not found!
kile: new quotes: true left=`` right=''
kile: file not found: latex-kile.lst
kile: file not found: latex-tetex.lst
kded: WARNING: KServiceType::offers : servicetype KDEDModule not found
kile: ==Kile::resetPart()=============================
kile: current state Editor
kile: want state Editor
kile: ==Kile::updateModeStatus()==========
KCrash: Application 'kile' crashing...
Could not find 'drkonqi' executable.
KCrash cannot reach kdeinit, launching directly.
The splash screen shows and an error box pops up "malformed URL: file:///home/...." which is a URL to a document I was working on, the URL appears fine to me though.
Does anyone have an idea what this could be about? I'd really like to get Kile to work...

Maybe try removing any references to the document you were working on in ~/.kde/share/config/kilerc --- look under "[FilesOpenOnStart]" for example -- so that kile starts up fresh with no open documents.

I've taken out all references to any files, now the error box says "Malformed URL file:///home/username", the error in my console is the same. I really have got no idea on how to solve this...

Maybe this has something to do with it?
kile: file not found: latex-kile.lst kile: file not found: latex-tetex.lst
On my system,
pacman -Ql kile | grep latex
turns up
kile /opt/kde/share/apps/kile/help/latex-kile.lst
kile /opt/kde/share/apps/kile/help/latex-tetex.lst
Maybe try re-installing kile? Is your KDEDIR environment variable set up probably?

Woow dude, you just made my day! I already tried to reinstall kile with no success, but now I thought that I maybe should try to reinstall kde-common and kdelibs too. And it seems that fixed the issue
Thanks for indirectly helping me out, I'm done with gedit-latex-plugin now (which is a bit buggy and I'm so used to kile's interface).

I don't think I'd be able to live without kile, it's the best latex editor I've used !
