Re: Install catalyst conflicted

Try doing a pacman -Syu first, there is a new kernel in town.

I've seen a similar error when installing compiz fusion after I had removed Beryl and some unnecessary Beryl-files were left. Removing them manually solved the problem, but I don't know if these files are necessary or not. Did you install some app manually without pacman?

I would take the plunge: remove these files and immediately after do a pacman -Syu, which will install a new kernel. But then again, I am willing to take the risk to have to reinstall if this would fail...

Zl.

Re: Install catalyst conflicted

Ain't those files regenerated on each boot with depmod anyway?

Re: Install catalyst conflicted

I think a pacman -Syuf should be safe to resolve this problem.

Re: Install catalyst conflicted

Yeah - you should always make sure you have the latest kernel before installing modules - I think what happened here is you installed a module for a new kernel without installing the kernel first.

Always -Syu before installing new applications.

Re: Install catalyst conflicted

Thank you all. I force install the kernel finally. Everything seems OK now.
