thinkpad powertop no ACPI power

hello,

I have a thinkpad t61 and I would like to improve the battery's life. In order to do that I'm using the information provided by the "powertop" tool. Everything is fine but I am not able to make powertop show the power usage.. the error message I get is the following:

no ACPI power usage estimate available

I have both the acpi and thinkpad_acpi modules loaded so I don't know which is the cause of this error.

I don't think there is an issue with my laptop model because I've read of ppl being able to get power usage without problems. Therefore I think that there must be something that I'm missing... could someone help me please?

thank you in advance

marco

Re: thinkpad powertop no ACPI power

Have you waited enough time ?
About 5 minutes, on battery.

Re: thinkpad powertop no ACPI power

I have to second that. On my X60s I don't get this information either. I don't know why. I am not on Battery right now, but I would like to know my power consumption.

ACPI is loaded, as well as THINKPAD-ACPI

Ooopsie - forget about that post. I gonna check this after I have tried powertop running on battery.
