New logo, new mascot?

So we've settled with a new logo. Personally I think TheBodziO's one is superior, but I respect the decision.

Anyway, I sense there are some artists here itching for another project. With a new logo, would a new mascot be cool? I know, Judd has been a wonderful mascot, like extracting sound out of a guitar or so, but then maybe he's too human.

I don't think the new mascot need to be official. It can be kept strictly unofficial and within the community. I guess there are pros and cons for any decisions, including whether to have any mascots at all. Perhaps someone here would give it a go anyway?

I am not an artist myself, but for example foxbunny's Arch penguin could be a contender as mascot. I think I also saw some idea of arch nemesis or arch enemy with cross bow or what in the threads.

So what do you think?

I just got an idea (maybe someone is able to make it become real): An arching-pacman!
Just imagine cute little pacman with a bow and sparrows on his back (not IN his back!). I think it would look cool.

Not sure if it works, but here's a draft. Lines need to be smoothen out, etc. I'm not too good with GIMP, but we'll see what we can do with it.

Maybe we can have tag lines like, "Have you updated with pacman?" Or something like "Now pacman can arch. Can you?"

the problem with that idea is that arch's original meaning wasn't arch as in bow and arrow (from reading the logo threads), it means arch as in best, strongest, something like arch enemy.

Not too mention the trademark issues... I think it's important to steer clear of the "Pacman" franchise entirely.

Yeah. If, for whatever reason, we want a macot, it will not be namco's pacman, nor will it be a Dark Archon, or anything like that.

I definitely understand. I did the draft more for fun more than for serious reasons. I think I did see the arch enemy idea + draft in some threads. Perhaps we need some real artists here if we want a serious mascot.
