The latest update to Xorg made it refuse to start without an xorg.conf. X reports that it cannot find vesa, fbdev, or vga, and then gives up with a "No drivers available" message. Writing a simple xorg.conf fixed it for me, but I liked the convenience of not needing one. Any ideas?
