Allright, moved over from gentoo (did a cd install), installation went fast - pretty good - but now
as many others have experienced here in the forums I can't update jack.
updating does not work as I cannot use AAANNNYYY mirror here:
pacman -S pacman gives me 404 errors on ALL mirrors BECAUSE it lacks i686 in the url:
the system looks for
http://mirrors.easynews.com/linux/archlinux/current/os/i686/libarchive-2.4.0-2.pkg.tar.gzINSTEAD OF libarchive-2.4.0-2-i686.pkg.tar.gzSo the i686 is MISSING from the string.
Any way to get aroung this?

wget the file and -U it? Once you update pacman (which only needs a couple of packages), you'll be fixed up.

I wonder what's up with people thinking that using outdated install cds would work fine. Heck, this is a rolling release distro - don't complain if you're not using the latest stuff.
I hate sigs. This one only exists to remind myself to get an avatar.
