running arch under VMware

Hi, i'm rumsteak, the new most annoying guy i'll ever meet..:P
Since i'm new here, i searched the foruns but couldn't find any info about my problem, so here it is:

I want to install arch linux on vmware. i already done that, folowing the Wiki, and got gnome working, but couldnt change the screen resolution and several other things (wich i quite didnt searched, the screen resolution was so high that i counld't put vmware on full screen)

So i'm wondering, whats the problem? I've done everything wright, is it because i'm using VMware? should i install that thing "VMware Tools", and if yes, can anyone help me, i tried several times on diferent distro's but that thing just doesnt install!!

Can anyone help me?:(

Re: running arch under VMware

You could edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf and remove the higher resolution settings.

Re: running arch under VMware

Open VMware and instead of 'start this virtual machine' choose 'edit virtual machine settings'. There you can change the 'display' resolution.
I'm running it in 1024x768 resolution.
