Print to pdf

Hi Gents,

I tried to manage printing to a PDF file instead of printing to a printer (just to save paper), I use CUPS in KDE.

So I installed the cups-pdf package and ran the cups management dialog, where I added the cups-pdf as a new printer.

Then I printed a newspaper article to my new printing device cups-pdf (which was shown in the printing dialog), I activated the checkbox "print to file" where I could define the destination file. Indeed, that file was created, in a size that is plausible for a pdf, about 243 KB. So far, so fine.

But.... ;-)

When I try to open that pdf file with Adobe Reader, he tells me, that is seems to be defect. :-((((((

Can anyone help me or is in a similar situation ?

Greez scg (and switch to a happy new year, guys !!!!)

Re: Print to pdf

OK, I managed it.

To help others not to run into the same trap, here is the (simple) reason:

When filling out the cups management dialog, it seems to be important to chose "postscript" as the printer vendor and then to chose the printer model "Generic Postscript Color Printer".

That was all.

Have fun ! smile
