I am trying to get my extra keyboard keys to work. I have looked at the wiki page and it recommends me to use HAL, but I have no idea how to use it! If anyone can help me it would be highly appreciated.

Check this out. I have not tried it yet, but will soon.

lineak That's how I got all my extra keyboard keys and volume wheel to work on my logitech iTouch.
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Lin … ak_Program <-- that part of the wiki that ^^^ linked u too. I tried some of the other ways and found the lineak to work best for my situation.

KControl > Regional & Accessibility > Keyboard Layout always to my rescue
I need real, proper pen and paper for this.

http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Hotkeys for a lowlevel approach which does not require you to run any service or specific desktop environment.

That page has got me confused. Isn't there a GUI for this like in Gnome for KDE?
EDIT: I don't mind a Gtk app as long as it has no Gnome dependencies

i meant "enable keyboard layouts" then select something exotic, like models which are known for multimedia keys. I have mine as Compaq Armada. No guaranteed results but just try and see if they work
