Archlinux on the LG A1-A2JNV

This is a short and hopefully an informative post about running linux on the LG A1-A2JNV.
I purchased one recently and has found that there are very few that has one and that runs linux on it (or windows...).
So I thought I'd post some short jibberish about what works and what doesn't.

First off all the entire laptop except for graphics card, sd-card reader, bluetooth and ethernet card uses intel chipsets.
In my opinion they're reliable chipsets with good proper support.

Heres a list of capabilities and stuff:

There are only one things that I havn't gotten working.
The synaptics driver. Whenever it is loaded without a very specific setting it scrolls up and down when pressing the left and right mouse buttons.
When the setting is set it instead sends 2-3 clicks everytime.
This page, http://www.math.chalmers.se/~ossa/linux … press.html, is a guide ment for the TX versions although it seems to be the exact same problem. Managed to get it compiled by not having pkgconfig installed (?) but alas, it did not work as intended anyways. Working on a proper patch for it though. More to come.

Update 2008-03-28:
The synaptics problem is now solved. There is a guide on at the bottom of http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Touchpad_Synaptics describing the problem/symptoms and the solution. Rejoice!

In alignment to this there is now nothing that isn't working on the LG A1-A2JNV.
I've heard reports that some people experience problems with restarting X, apparently it seems like the nvidia driver crashes if DRI isenabled. This only means that you have to do a proper reboot instead of just killing X. It also seems to be associated with the driver and not the card itself. Lets just cross our fingers and hope that NVIDIA solves this so we proud owners can have our 100% Linux compatible laptop instead of 100% and a small bug.

Suspend2Ram now works out of the box with Archlinux 2.6.23-ARCH kernel.
