X-Fi Soundcard

I finally updated my ancient SBLive 5.1 to an X-Fi XTremeGamer, and I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck getting it to work at all on linux. I downloaded the 'driver' from creative, but it wouldnt install. I think I scanned somewhere that it doesn't work with the .23 kernel, but I just wanted to see if anyone has had any luck.

Re: X-Fi Soundcard

That kind of update would have made sense with Windows, but a little googling should have told you that X-Fi with Linux seems like a lost cause.

Perhaps that will prove to be of use.

Re: X-Fi Soundcard

I'd be willing to try that if I had the .22 kernel, but I'm not confident enough in my linux abilities to be switching around kernel versions and stuff hmm
