./j2sdk-1_4_2_16-linux-i586.bin: line 425: ./install.sfx.6810: No such file or directory
I have tried 4 different jvm-s and non will unpack right and install on arch64.
Is this some kind of systemic problem, I am using arch64 and am attempting to install sun or blackdown jre 32 bit.
I need 1.4.2 to get a legato GUI tool going at work.
Why does arch64 have thsi bizarre unpack problem?

I don't think you are able to install a 32 bit java in arch64, hence the error messages.

This happens sometimes when you're trying to run binaries not designed for your architecture. You'll either end up with the error message that you got, or a 'wrong ELF class' error. This kind of thing works on distros like Ubuntu because they have a full multi-lib setup. You may want to look into a chroot environment if you need this tool.
