Hello all,
I have been searching for a free MMORPH game that is modern and supported on the linux platform, natively or via wine.
I love the likes of 2moons, 9dragon, rappelz, conquer online;
However, the closest games that worked for me was silkroad online on my former Ubuntu platform. These are all rpg games. Anyone has any ideas.
I have heard of runescape, but that is believed to be older graphics. I downloaded wesnoth and I'm trying it.
Opensource; Become a part of it.

well, while non-free, guild wars has a no-subscription policy, is available for discounted prices these days, and works better and better under wine.

I have successfully installed Wold of Warcraft on Archlinux/Wine before, and can say it works nicely on OpenGL. But one advice: if you plan on running it, be aware as Wine/OpenGL results in a little bit lower FPS than native. It became unplayable on my onboard (low-end, outdated, i know ) ATI X200
Puzzle Pirates should run without issues (and in fact it worked on 686 for my brother in the past) as it's written in Java. Same with Wurm, but i have never played it.
As a final note, with any Windows applications under Wine, you can try checking the lists and information at http://appdb.winehq.org/ for known Windows MMOGs

Second shout-out for Guild Wars. While I cannot run it (nor any other recent 3D game which makes use of OpenGL) under Linux, it is a lot of fun.
I've also heard good things about Neverwinter Nights, which has both a complete single-player campaign and decent online play. I guess that's kinda old now, though. Even I can run it. ;-)
