I'm launching Compiz-Fusion with the fusion-icon, and I have already twice (maybe more than twice) checked that emerald is selected as the Windows Deco...

Thanks wink

Re: Emerald not showing Window borders

Have you went into the Compiz Settings Manager and selected/checked the Window Decorations option?

Re: Emerald not showing Window borders

I had this problem where the window borders would only be enabled if fusion-icon was launched from root, so try changing the perminisions on ~./compiz/ i think it was.

Re: Emerald not showing Window borders

Just to confirm... you have "emerald --replace" listed in your Windows Decorations Right?
What happens if you directly run "emerald --replace" from the terminal?

Re: Emerald not showing Window borders

I install Arch and I don't have windows borders with emerald (in gnome), I tried a lot of things (for example, format and install all again) but I can't make it work.

Well, have you got any Emerald themes installed/chosen/configured yet?
You should also select emerald as the compiz-fusion Win Deco manager...

Yes, in emelard manager appear the themes (I probed all), and in compiz-fusion emerald is selected. I tried make it work as root, and doesn't work either.

Re: Emerald not showing Window borders

I had the same problem I guess...

Can you use the other functions (like cube rotation) or maybe choose another WinDeco (like aquamarine or heliodor)?

Re: Emerald not showing Window borders

The effects work perfectly, the only thing that doesn't work is emerlad  (emerald doesn't have log o something like that, where I can see what happen), but emerald is running without give (in console) any error.  sad

Re: Emerald not showing Window borders

I had an idea... maybe this is because compiz-fusion-kde is still trying to use qt, instead of the new qt3 package?

Re: Emerald not showing Window borders

i had a similar problem with gnome and emerald
but when i installed
compiz-manager and compiz-gtk-decorator, i added in ccsm in window decorator
emerald --replace
then, i ran compiz-manager and it was solved
the depth must be 24bits

Re: Emerald not showing Window borders

I ended up fixing mine by changing the way I loaded Compiz each time. Rather than using a symlink once kwin was running, I used the "script" method found on the arch wiki.
