Hi!
I am going to set up X. My video card is an Intel integrated one - x3100 with 300+MB shared memory from RAM. Is there any driver for it? I'd like to have full OpenGl support.

xf86-video-intel
I need real, proper pen and paper for this.

I downloaded that package. I ran xorgconfig and was very frustrated. I didn't see my resolution at all - 1280x800. I didn't see my amount of memory the video card uses - ... hmm, I don't know it either.
I did a X -config to test. I got 'vga not loaded...'. I replaced 'vga' to 'xf86-video-intel' in xorg.conf. No effect. What to do then?

Umm, weelll, xorgconfig or X -config might produce something to work with, but in general you need to edit the xorg.conf file for best performance. As to your editing of 'vga' to 'xf86-video-intel': you should replace it with 'intel'. There are many, many sample xorg.conf's out there that use the intel driver, so google is your friend.

You can specify the amount of videoram in xorg.conf and you need to add the 1280*800 resolution to it too. That's all I had to do to get it to work on my father's laptop.
Zl.
/EDIT: numerous wiki-entries could help you, f.e. http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Intel_GMA_950
