However, the integrated ethernet seems not to work.(with the latest 2007.08-2 FTP install ISO)
#lspci -nn |grep Eth
00:12.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT6102 [Rhine-II] [1106:3065] (rev 78)
#dmesg |tail

via-rhine: Broken Bios detected, avoid_D3 enabled.
eth0 : VIA Rhine II at 0x1f200, xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, IRQ 17
eth0: MII PHY found at address 1, status 0x786d adverticing 05e1 link cde1.
However, I am able to use this eth interface with no problem on gOS (thinkgos.com. It is basically a Ubuntu 7.10 + E17)
Any idea what went wrong with Arch and how can I fix it?
Phabulosa
P.S. I may recompile my kernel and fix the problem, but how can I install Arch and download necessary software without network?

Hi there,
I ran into the exact same problem with an epox ep-4vkmi that comes with a rhine (rev 78) and the latest 2008.04-rc. Were you ever able to fix this problem? any help is greatly appreciated.

Wow, that's long time ago.
I am not sure how I fixed the problem.
I have another ethernet card on board and after upgrading the kernel, both ethernet cards worked.
