Every time I boot Arch, I have to manually load the snd_sb16 module. It works great while loaded with modprobe snd_sb16, but when rebooting, it won't load. I tried adding the module to /etc/modprobe.conf, but I get an error when rebooting. Perhaps the syntax is wrong?
Where else should I add the module so it will get loaded at boot?
Thanks.

In /etc/rc.conf, you'll find MODULES section. Put that module to here.
ArchLinux with Xfce4.

when you put it in /etc/rc.conf as said above.. don't forget to remove what you added to /etc/modprobe.conf as it's unneeded.
From what I understand.. in Arch, usually use rc.conf's module line.. unless you need to specify special options to load with the module then you use /etc/modprobe.conf

Thanks guys. I will do that, and get back with you.
Ok, it worked.
Too totally embarrassing to mention that going back to a 120 gig hd with several distros on it and getting the card working, I totally forgot about rc.conf and Arch
