Merge Partitions on External Hard Disk [solved]

Hi - I have an external hard disk formatted in FAT32 that has three partitions sdb1, sdb2 and sdb3 (it used to be inside a computer) - I'd ideally like to merge the partitions to make one partition... Any help would be much appreciated.

pacman -S gparted

Ant then use gparted as root.

Re: Merge Partitions on External Hard Disk [solved]

From my experience, if the hard drive is even marginally big (~160 GB) it can take a very long time to merge partitions. I lost a bunch of data once when I tried to stop an operation that was going to take 80+ hours. I personally would go the route of backing up the data to DVD's and then formatting the whole drive. Your mileage may vary though.
