"Skipping audio, slower servers, everyone knows the symptoms of latency. But to know what's going on in the system, what's causing the latency, how to fix it... that's a hard question without good answers right now.
LatencyTOP is a Linux* tool for software developers (both kernel and userspace), aimed at identifying where in the system latency is happening, and what kind of operation/action is causing the latency to happen so that the code can be changed to avoid the worst latency hiccups. "
It looks awesome:

Could you try making package(s)?

Kernel patches
--------------
LatencyTOP requires some kernel patches to work. These patches are
available from the website for review and I will be posting them as
reply to this announce email as well.
The patches aren't quite ready for mainline inclusion yet
(assuming they aren't hated universally in the first place). For example,
the locking is still rather coarse grained. However, it will be easy
to split the lock in a reasonable way. I'd rather incorporate all other
feedback first before doing more fancy locking though.
I doubt this will ever make it as a AUR package build, unless the kernel comes installed with those patches.

Ooh that's a shame, it looked like a really cool app.

Well, anyone who's interested enough could also post a kernel26latencytop PKGBUILD, incorporating those patches.

Why? Someone just need to patch the kernel. Is there any reason one can't put that in PKGBUILD?
