modprobe error

I used to have alsa running in a 2.6 kernel and i removed the kernel and installed a 2.4 kernel now when I try to  modprobe snd_emu10ki i get this

[root@ArchBox dakor]# modprobe snd_emu10k1
Note: /etc/modules.conf is more recent than /lib/modules/2.4.26/modules.dep
modprobe: Can't locate module snd_emu10k1

any ideas?

Re: modprobe error

1. It's called snd-emu10k1, not snd_emu10k1
2. Do you have alsa-driver installed?

You can also use the OSS driver with 2.4.x if you want (emu10k1).

You can run depmod -a as root to get rid of that message.
