Is it possible to take a DVD disc and create CD iso's to use in a laptop that doesn't have a DVD drive?

Am I the only one who doesn't get this?
Haven't been here in a while. Still rocking Arch.

CD .iso's are limited to 700MB. DVD .iso's usually exceed that limit.
Prediction...This year will be a very odd year!

I guess you could transfer the DVD.iso to the laptop using cd's (tar the dvd contents to several chunks not exceeding 700MB) or other types of storage and then mount the DVD.iso without burning it to a DVD (directly from your hard drive)
Zl.

There is a debian tool called jigdo http://atterer.net/jigdo/ which should do that (never tried it though...)

What's the contents of the DVD? DVD Video, data, or something else?

I got it figured out. My parents got an old iBook G3 that only had a cdrom drive in it. They wanted to install OSX Tiger on it but it is a DVD. So I wanted to create CD's from it. But I figured out how to install via firewire.
Thanks
