protecting KDEmod from regular old KDE

There are lots of notes in the KDEMOD docs that say to avoid mixing KDEMOD with the KDE packages in the standard repository.

Does pacman recognize which kdemod and kde packages are incompatible, or is this something I'll just need to be careful to never accidentally do?  Can I set up some sort of filter for pacman that will keep me from frying my kdemod installation?

Thanks,

Chris

Re: protecting KDEmod from regular old KDE

If you install KDEmod, pacman takes care and it will prevent mixing the packages... No extra setup is needed...

And btw: Regular KDE is not "old". Its vanilla KDE without further changes and users can decide what they want...

want a modular and tweaked KDE for arch? try kdemod

Thanks for the quick response.

Didn't mean to confuse/upset with the "regular old" comment -- not meant to mean out of date, but old as in it's old-er/more standard/more established/dependable (similar to the American idiom, "good old," as in, "good old Biff, always good for a laugh" etc etc).

Thanks again,

Chris
