Arch is rolling release, so technically the kernel has nothing to do with the kernel version. The updated isos will come along when they get around to it.

i hope the new iso's will arrive some time soon too, along with the other recent updates (pacman) giving me a perfect, fresh and updated .iso for the new install i have planned for this week.

why?

I know Exactly how arch works and yet I too am waiting for the new iso's.

Yes i know it is a rolling system, etc. etc ..... but reinstalling a system from scratch can surely benefit from more up to date iso installation cd's if only for the fact that it gives you less fragmentation after updating from a half year old iso install cd to current and has less risk of breaking your system if you need to update every single package you just installed and that is besides the fact that it saves you bandwith if you download the more recent packages the first time instead of an older image and updating them all.

So me personally can totally relate to the thread starter (and as stated above it was announced that new iso's would come available after the .24 kernel went final).
And let's just presume that indeed doesn't know how Arch works I still wouldn't have laughed at him, but maybe that is just me.

Or you can go for the ftp install which will minimize that problem.

FTP install is a little messed up though at the moment, the update to pacman 3.1 introduces changes to the mirror lists, the new ISO will fix this.
