brasero: should I activate libburn backend?

(3/3) installing brasero [#####################] 100%
>> To enable libburn backend you need to activate it in GConf:
>> /apps/brasero/config/libburn_burn
>> /apps/brasero/config/libburn_iso

I get this message when installing brasero. I haven't done anything about libburn so far and brasero seems to work fine. What is it? Should I care about activating libburn is gconf?

Have you tried burning ISOs yet? That might fail without activating libburn_iso. It's probably safer just to enable both of them.

it does depend on gconf, totem and nautilus, if that's what you mean.
But there is no problem in using it in other de's/wm's

Re: brasero: should I activate libburn backend?

I thought the ISO I burned failed, but I just tried it in another computer and it booted. so maybe libburn isn't necessary? The burn without it gave a failed error message, but the disc worked anyway. So now I"m not sure. I tend to say "if it's not broken, don't fix it." tongue
