Hi, I have a Canon PIXMA iP4300 printer and as far as I know it works with this driver (proprietary).
The thing is, it's in .rpm format. How can I install it in arch?
Thanks a bunch!

I got my IP1800 working (using the same driver, so yours should work too), but I'm not entirely sure how. I extracted the contents of the cnijfilter-(printername).1396.rpm and the cnijfilter-common.i386.rpm files with rpmextract (gotta use the command "rpmextract.sh + file" for it to work) and I put all of the files where they wanted to be based on the names of the folders that they were extracted to. Then i added a printer. Make sure you use the default USB connection type of printer and not the cnij_usb thing becuase I didn't actually get that part to work. It did add and printed the test page fine. hope it works for you!
