Hi, I have problems with symbols in openoffice. I need to enter greek letters in mathematical formulas. Unfortunately while some commands such as %pi or %nu work OK,other ones (%rho, %omega, %theta...) do not appear to be understood (I simply get rho, omega... characters strings as result...).
I wonder whether this might have something to do with the fact that the OpenSymbol font in the selection box yields only open squares, which leads me to use "Standard Symbols L" to get greek letters in the text ?
On the other hand, I'd like to know the best font to use (especially for symbols) in order to get portability with MSWord users ?
I have the following packages installed:
pacman -Q | grep font
fontcacheproto 0.1.2-1
fontconfig 2.5.0-1
fontsproto 2.0.2-1
gsfonts 8.11-4
latex-xft-fonts 0.1-1
libfontenc 1.0.4-1
libxfont 1.3.1-2
libxfontcache 1.0.4-1
ttf-ms-fonts 2.0-1
xorg-font-utils 1.0.3-3
xorg-fonts-alias 1.0.1-1
xorg-fonts-encodings 1.0.2-2
xorg-fonts-misc 1.0.0-3

I'd recommend to also install xorg-fonts-75dpi, xorg-fonts-100dpi, ttf-dejavu and ttf-freefont.

Thank you. Unfortunately adding these 4 pkgs does not solve the issue.
I had pkgs openoffice-base, openoffice-fr, jre, up to date; nevertheless I just reinstall them but remain stuck by this problem. I can get most greek letters (alpha, gamma, delta, mu, nu, pi, tau, psi...) but not beta, chi, omega, zeta, theta, rho...!
