What's with this? Is it safe?

As of 2.6.24, iwlwifi is now a part of the vanilla kernel. In my case, everything works just as it did before. It should be ok.

Do you use 11a? (i.e. 5.xGHz) Does it work for you?

Slightly off-topic advice: I would strongly recommend that you do not use the testing repo in general and the testing kernel package in particular unless you are prepared for the changes they bring to your system.

new kernel solved the fat32 external storage devices problem for me... but because that it replaces iwlwifi, i can't connect to wifi any more with the kernel's driver... i don't know why but i can't connecto to wifi unless i don't install iwlwifi.. so i think something needs to be fixed..

I have been running 2.6.24 since the RC's, and no problem with the wifi whatsoever (IPW3945).
