The arch - a wallpaper

I created a wallpaper, for now only 1440x900, and I'll make it in as many resolutions as possible.

A lot of thanks go to Alec Feld for the photo.

the_arch_th.jpg

You can download the whole package: The Arch Pack

Or you can go to http://radu.dinamo-online.net/foto/arch/ and download your prefered resolution format.

Re: The arch - a wallpaper

Awesome work, looking forward for the other resolutions. I fell in love with the new logo the first time I saw it in color on the startup screen. (New kernel 2.6.24-2, thanks tpowa and everyone involved!)

Haven't been here in a while. Still rocking Arch. smile

Re: The arch - a wallpaper

How can I import svg to photoshop? I try to do this at work. I installed Gimp for windows, but it rasterizes the svg and it looks like crap. sad

Re: The arch - a wallpaper

You need to open it in illustrator and export to ai, eps, or whatev...

Re: The arch - a wallpaper

I like it a lot but on my screen the lower GNOME panel hides some of the logo text.

Perhaps when you next modify it you could nudge the logo, and associated text, upwards a little.

OT: I'm at 2.6.23.14-1. Is the version you're referring to in [testing]?

Re: The arch - a wallpaper

@Sigi: Is there a default boot splash now built into the kernel image? Or at least, one in the testing repo?

Yes, it is.

Well, I'm not sure if this already counts as a bootsplash. I was just referring to the small colored logo on top of the screen while starting Arch.
