Hey,
I think that mouse movements take an awful percentage of my computer usage.
Traveling with the mouse across the screen takes a "long" time.
I was wondering if there is some way that the cursor will "magically" jump to a place
on the screen that is proportional to where I touched the touchpad the first time I touched it.
Will save about 2-3 seconds every time!
I hope that doesn't sound too weird...
Thanks

seems to me this would severely hinder tap-clicking. if you dont tap in the EXACT same spot, your mouse would jump. however i've read somewhere before that synaptics can do this. i'll read around and see if i can find it.
archlinux - please read this and this — twice — then ask questions.

You can enable circular motions through the syndaemon utility. Its on the arch wiki, search for synaptics there. some people find it more intuitive.

I'm torn apart between worlds. Basically, using vim in a highly visual environment with a lot of mouse features feels like soldering a lose wire to a motherboard with a Zippo and a needle, while working with ANY TEXT AT ALL with a "modern GUI" text editor feels like joining the London Philharmonic Orchestra with a Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Magical Musical Mirror. --Awebb
