Alsa: Problems Galore

I just done about everythings thats being talked about to do to get my sound working. Gone through wiki, read forums and posted and got back reading the wiki and nothing seems to work. Could u tell what information i need to furnish so it would help you to what i cannot see?

There _are_ valid problems. Mostly in the form of unsupported hardware. Moreover, in some cases, for those supported, there are fluctuations in ALSA versions regardless of new or old, with some hardware like the ICH 9 chipsets, in which case they will not be detected. Things like alsaconf will not help, in which case only brebs has the answer.


I need real, proper pen and paper for this.

Could you please provide us with some more info?
Like your rc.conf and did you setup your alsamixer? You don't only need to pump up the volume, but also press the "M" button to un-mute the sound! (Master & PCM Channel)
