Is it possible to run the emerald windows decorator in xfce (compositor enabled)?
I really like the xfwm-compositor... not so overblown like compiz and adds all effects I want (true transparency and shadows) without having to much of an impact on the system performance. Emerald is a great windows decorator engine so if it would be possible to to use it with the xfwm-compositor the result would be a minimal composite-wm which looks like compiz without the powerpoint presentation like effects!
As far as I know emerald just needs a composite windows manager to work, but it gives me an error under xfwm:
emerald --replace
(emerald:2351): Wnck-WARNING **: Property _NET_WM_NAME contained invalid UTF-8
Emerald runs fine in compiz-fusion though.
Is it just a configuration problem or is it not possible at all to run emerald with the xfwm? Has anyone experience with this?

I suppose this is impossible. Xfwm4 is a window manager and a decorator at the same time. So I suppose you can't detach wm from decorator.
However I can be in the wrong side....
