DLink DSB-C110 webcam won't work [solved, kthx]

When first trying to use the webcam, it autoloaded the SN9C1xx module, but it didn't work.

% camE (Tue 29, 17:06)
camE: camE 1.9 - (c) 1999, 2000 Gerd Knorr, Tom Gilbert
camE: grabber config: size 320x240, input 0, norm 0, jpeg quality 75
can't load font arial/8
can't load font arial/8
/dev/video0: no v4l device

Then I installed the gspca driver, but it still doesn't work, although the error message changed:

% camE (Tue 29, 17:06)
camE: camE 1.9 - (c) 1999, 2000 Gerd Knorr, Tom Gilbert

can't load font arial/8
can't load font arial/8
open /dev/video0: Input/output error

The referent part of lsmod is:

Module Size Used by

The dmesg:

Any help? smile

Hi! smile
gspca seems to be the right driver for your webcam. Are you member of the group 'video'?
I'm not sure, but it might be that camE doesn't support v4l2 devices, you could try for example Ekiga, Skype, or amsn to test your webcam.
Good luck smile

Re: DLink DSB-C110 webcam won't work [solved, kthx]

It worked fine with Ekiga, thanks. smile

But the module 'v4l1_compat' shouldn't make me able to use a v4l2 device as a v4l1?

Edit: I blacklisted de module sn9cxx and everything is fine now =] (even in kopete, although very badly in quality, but from what I remember, this cam never was that good)
