I have a Cure 2 Duo laptop I run Arch on, and whenever YouTube is playing videos fullscreen, the framerate drops noticably. Is there anything I can do to help increase performance?

I have the same problem. Core 2 Duo with 8800gts running nvidia 100.14.19-6 driver.
I've had this problem for a while, I didn't pay attention when the problem first occured, so i don't know what update caused it.
I tried nvidia beta driver (169.x) - didn't help, different browsers (firefox 2/3 & opera)- same thing.
Updated to latest flashplugin from development blog (http://blogs.adobe.com/penguin.swf) - it might have helped slightly, but the problem is still there.

A weird way around this for me was to use the zoom-function in compiz-fusion.
